    Marrakech to Dades Gorge

    Over Tizi n'Tichka to the fortified ksar of Ait Ben Haddou — film set of Gladiator and Game of Thrones — then east through Ouarzazate, the Skoura palm oasis, and the Valley of Roses to a night in the Dades Gorge.

  2. Day 02

    Todra Gorge to the Erg Chebbi Dunes

    Drive — approx. 260 km / ~4.5h with stops

    Sheer canyon walls of the Todra Gorge above its shallow clear river

    Walk the cool canyon floor of Todra Gorge before crossing the Tafilalet to Merzouga. At golden hour, a camel caravan carries you into the dunes for sandboarding, a Berber dinner, and a night in a luxury desert camp.

    Merzouga to Fes via the Ziz Valley

    Drive — approx. 460 km / ~7.5h with stops

    Date palms of the Ziz Valley oasis beneath red canyon walls

    Sunrise over the Sahara, then north along the Ziz Valley's ribbon of a million palms. Pause in Midelt, cross the cedar forests of Azrou — watch for Barbary macaques — and descend through alpine Ifrane to the medieval gates of Fes.
